Rob worked for over 20 years in secondary schools in Cambridge and Norfolk acting as a Deputy Head, Training School Leader and CPD Co-ordinator. In 2000 Rob established the Norfolk Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) programme and subsequently worked for Norfolk and Suffolk Local Authorities as ITT Adviser, setting up and managing the joint LAs Secondary SCITT and GTP Programmes with over 200 trainees and a partnership of over 5o schools.

During this time Rob completed a Doctorate in Critical Pedagogies and Classroom Research with the Centre for Applied Research in Education (CARE) at the University of East Anglia.

In 2003 Rob then took up post as Regional Partnership Manager for the TTA Eastern Region, co-ordinating the drive to increase both quantity and quality of Initial Teacher Training. In 2006 Rob continued with TTA (now TDA) as the Training School Consultant for the 55 Training Schools within the Eastern and East London regions.

The role of Training School Consultant involves a process of helping schools to establish, evaluate and disseminate innovative activity in relation to Initial Teacher Training, Continuing Professional Development and training for the Wider Workforce. Brokering contacts between Training Schools and Childrens Services as well as contacts for Training School led Cluster development is also a key role.

Currently Rob is supporting partnership and cluster development by schools as a response to the current economic and political instability. Rob is also an Associate of the Co-operative College helping schools form Trusts and convert to Academies under the Co-operative Principles.
